The last summer I went to Santiago (Chile) and in the national archive, I found alot of peruvian History studens who came to search documents for their investigations, that Manu(Chile) stole in “the War of the Pacific” in Lima, well if you want I could try to convince Manu to don’t be so cruel. Pages are missing from the diary of your past and that you have to come to Manu’s(Chile) house is degrading. Would you like that I tell him that return them back to you or give you a copy at least?
(ooc. Ok… this is a super serious question also an interesting one… These is a thing with the War of the Pacific, that Miguel never going to forget because it wounded his pride so bad. The topic of the Occupation of Lima and the plunder. And of course that is degrading.
To explain this question is specifically about When The Chilean army plundered the contents of the Peruvian National Library in Lima and transported thousands of Books (including many centuries-old original Spanish, Peruvian and Colonial volumes) to Santiago de Chile, along with much capital stock. When Ricardo Palma was appointed Director of the National Library after the occupation he found that only 378 of its 56,000 books were left. Also the Chilean government returned 3,778 books to the National Library of Peru, in November of 2007.
